Melbourne Contemporary Choir
Studio Recording 2022
Melbourne Contemporary Choir invites Melbourne singers and vocalists to be a part of our exciting new Studio Recording project in 2022 following on from the hugely successful Live Album 'MCCCHOIR LIVE' and our well received EP 'Others'. MCCHOIR's growing catalogue of original songs really sets us apart from other cover bands and choirs and is part of the reason so many of our singers enjoy the experience of singing together. There's something quite unique about creating an original piece of work and being able to share that with your family and friends.
We will be partnering with some of Melbourne's finest musicians including members of the MSO who will be providing some gorgeous live string settings of our songs. Our co-writer Jared Haschek will be overseeing the production together with Aria Award winning Engineer Phil Threlfall from the Bass Recording Studio in South Melbourne.
The original songs we will be recording for the EP are:
"Road Not Taken" based on the beautiful Robert Frost Poem
"Here For The Long Run" which some of you did a virtual recording for last year and
"Reality" which was written for the Australian Open some years ago
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Pre-Session Work: You will receive guide vocal tracks, music and lyric sheets prior to the bootcamp to learn your part at home in your own time.
Bootcamp: Saturday 18th June 2022, 10AM - 2PM (BYO lunch). this session will bring together all of the learnings you've made over the past couple of months. Cost $60, payment due 18th May 2022.
Studio Recording: Saturday 25 June 10AM - 2PM (Light refreshments provided) Oaklands Recording Studio Nunawading. Bring your own headphones for monitoring. Cost $60, payment due 18th May 2022.
WHAT'S THE COMMITMENT?
You must be able to commit to the Bootcamp prior to the recording as well as the Studio Recording at the advised times. You must come prepared to each session having listened to the your part and have feel confident to follow the music or lyric sheet. We want you to have fun and get to know your fellow singers better, so come prepared so you can enjoy yourself.
At the end of the experience you will receive a digital copy of the music you have created which will also be available on all of your favourite streaming services.
WHAT IS THE COST?
You need to pay for the bootcamp and studio recording session by 18th May.
We will need 50 singers to commit to the project to make it viable.
Due to this project running to a strict budget the cost is strictly non-refundable.
You will need to comply with all COVID restrictions at the time of recording and the way we record the choir may change depending on government regulations at the time. You must be well to attend the sessions and recording as per our COVIDSafe plan.
